Maya modelling tools - Monika

[Monika] In between all of this I took some time away to watch some tutorials and practice techniques. One of the tutorials was on creating a brick wall in Maya. There, for the first time, I was introduced to Maya's sculpting tools. For this project I had decided not to use sculpting, so no Mudbox, no ZBrush, but for subtle things the Maya tools looked very useful. For example I thought I could use them on the terrains and places like that. They're not as powerful as the dedicated programs of course, but it was nice to work completely in Maya without having to transfer the files over to another software.

Speaking of sculpting, even though I've never really enjoyed it, I've been watching some of my classmates use ZBrush lately and it makes me really want to pick it up as well. Looking at how other people work as well I quickly realized that I can't really go anywhere without sculpting and even stylized models need it. Sadly, I have too many other things to learn to add another one to the list. Maybe over the holidays or something would be a good time to do that.
