Nikholai - Week 7

This week has seen a rather catastrophic hold up. I've sadly falling seriously ill in the last few days and after visiting the doctor it has been made clear that I have a fever and a serious chest infection. That said however the doctors have failed to give me to the correct medicine that I require. Therefore, the coming days and even weeks might be rather challenging.


Because of this I've had discussions with the group as to how to move forward with the assigned tasks that I have. As I’ve already fallen behind schedule because of this unseeable turn of events it has been agreed that I was share my work load with the group. Max, who is acting as the producer for Game 15, will take up the particle effects. Once I recover we plan to work on these together so to allow me to still achieve my ideally portfolio state. As for animation, up to this point the projects coder Joe has been working with a placeholder model and animations. We have agreed that for now, we will continue to use this even up to the point of the presentation if required. My goal is now to try to finish the rig and import it to Unity so that the placeholder animations can be remapped to the model. Custom animations have been pushed back. As for environments animations those have now been put on hold for the mean time.

Looking ahead for the last two weeks I have to take a realistic point of view on what is to be expected from me now. Ultimately I have to focus on my recovery at this point in term. I personally have a very weak immune system so ensuring I recover to prevent further illness down the line is now my only priority. Once I’m in a position to work again I will aim to finish the construction of the custom rig.
